We have just updated the weekly police report from Police Scotland in Lochgilphead, with a report of a second break in at Minard in Mid Argyll. We are also reporting this separately here, since this appears to be one of a possible chain of such break-ins that have been happening over the past few months between Glen Aray and Tarbert.

These are causing serious local concern.

The Police Scotland information on this one is as follows:

Between 12.30pm on Sunday 27th October and 4.30pm on Tuesday 29th October a house in Victoria Park, Minard was broken into by having a ground floor window forced and a quantity of money and jewellery was stolen. It cannot be discounted that this break in is linked to the other break in at Minard which was reported on Monday.

Police are continuing enquiries with Scenes of Crime Officers attending today and additional patrols being placed in the area.

Police are asking for members of the public to be vigilant and if any suspicious activity is seen or heard, then please call the police on telephone number 101, or if an emergency on 999.

If any member of the public has any information, no matter how trivial it appears, they can contact the investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Munogee at Campbeltown Police Office on telephone number 101, or email on MidArgyllCPT@scotland.pnn.police.uk. Alternatively, anonymous information can be passed by phoning Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
